I restart and sometimes the process repeats itself, it goes to the blank screen with nothing happening, sometimes I get lucky and get in to Windows. Sometimes it doesn't even start windows. After configuring for the different hardware on the motherboard and video card, sound card etc, it worked the same.

Major Startup Problems
After installing the Celeron 766 (with Slotket), system won't start--no beeps--nothing--just blank screen. Chipset is I440FX on a Biostar M6FTX mobo. Tried the Slotket jumpers both at default and at 66 mhz, but neither setting does anything. How do I get the Celeron 766 to work? Will appreciate all help.

If I turn the computer on and don't press F8, the windows screen will come up, load, and then I get a black screen with the hourglass that does not go away. Sometimes it will start normally and then freeze after a little while. I can boot to safe mode/safe mode with networking - but that is annoying.

Well I am sure it is not a fault with the monitor, nor with any hardware component as the monitor and graphics work perfectly before startup. Ie the bios screen and windows loading screen appear without issues. It is only after this that the screen goes blank. Go back into Safe Mode and go to Add/Remove Programs.
